Benzinga - Alan Vey is the CEO and founder of Aventus, a Polkadot (CRYPTO: DOT) parachain that describes itself as an “enterprise-grade Layer 2 blockchain that marries the scale of a permissioned blockchain with the security and interoperability of public blockchains.”

Vey and Aventus have been making waves in blockchain-based ticketing, with major partnerships that include Vodafone’s "Economy of Things" Digital Asset Broker (DAB), Polkadot around the 10th-anniversary NFT release for the film “Wolf of Wall Street”; Beatport, a digital collectible marketplace for electronic music culture; and Parity, an NFT marketplace for women athletes.

Vey has been an active leader in key partnerships and wrote an article about the Vodafone partnership on his LinkedIn page. In that article, he stated: “This partnership between Aventus and Vodafone is a brilliant example of real-world applications of blockchain that bring tangible benefits to businesses and end users.”

Vey is scheduled to speak at Benzinga's Future of Digital Assets, where attendees can learn more about these partnerships.

Aventus was conceived as an open platform including NFTs, video games, loyalty programs, event ticketing, supply chain provenance and cargo management by Vey and Annika Monari, who outlined it in a white paper in 2016. The two met and created the idea for the network in 2015 while studying at Imperial College, London.

In 2019, Aventus made its protocol fully open-source to make the ticketing industry more transparent and secure.

“Combining Blockchain, IoT, and Web3 has the potential to overhaul the way businesses operate and interact with their customers, bringing huge efficiencies and benefits. Those willing to understand and leverage it today have the unique opportunity to shape tomorrow’s digital landscape,” Vey said.

Vodafone DAB and Aventus Network established a bridge that connects to the broader blockchain ecosystem via the Polkadot platform allowing users to interoperate cross-chain using the DAB IoT identity passport, trading data and money between ecosystems.

An example Vodafone DAB used was an electric vehicle that can communicate with and transact with its charging station.

Vey and his co-founder Monari were named among Forbes Europe's “30 Under 30 - Technology” for their work in blockchain-powered event ticketing.

An August 2023 report from Mordor Intelligence said that the online event ticketing market size is expected to grow from $77.49 billion in 2023 to $97.36 billion by 2028.

Why is Alan Vey Someone To Watch In Web3: Vey and Aventus are focused on real use cases to serve a global audience with Web3 solutions. Their major partnerships with Polkadot, Vodafone and entertainment properties help them provide access to new experiences for fans that attract more people to the Web3 space.

In terms of onboarding more users into Web3, leading with entertainment and IoT is a great way to reach a wide audience, and making their ticketing platform open source can help solve the issue of ticketing on blockchain for other projects.

By focusing on partnership implementations with global leaders in and out of the blockchain space and entertainment experiences that attract users, Vey has shown a forward-looking attitude toward mainstreaming the space and made himself among people to watch in Web3 2023.
