Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land (PS:RLC), which rose 3.70% or 1.000 points to trade at 28.000 at the close. Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 2.99% or 0.260 points to end at 8.970 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 2.67% or 0.120 points to 4.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron (PS:PCOR), which lost 1.94% or 0.180 points to trade at 9.120 in late trade. Energy Develop (PS:EDC) declined 1.49% or 0.110 points to end at 7.270 and Philex Mining (PS:PX) shed 1.07% or 0.070 points to 6.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 69 and 24 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.46% or 5.40 to $1183.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.25% or 1.35 to hit $61.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.84% or 1.20 to trade at $66.08 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.17% to 7.2541, while USD/PHP fell 0.41% to 44.906.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 94.66.
