Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 7.71% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.0517 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 4.03% or 0.3780 points to end at 9.7640 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPRu) was up 2.52% or 0.1550 points to 6.3050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which lost 4.35% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0022 in late trade. Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) declined 1.15% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.4300 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.74% or 0.0550 points to 7.3980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 26 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 4.67% or 2.19 to $48.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 6.02% or 2.60 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.50 to trade at $1176.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1073, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7226.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.66.
