Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MC:ANA), which rose 0.80% or 0.670 points to trade at 84.570 at the close. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) added 0.63% or 0.045 points to end at 7.192 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 0.49% or 0.175 points to 35.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 18.16% or 0.075 points to trade at 0.338 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 3.09% or 0.370 points to end at 11.600 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) shed 2.03% or 0.141 points to 6.815.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 61 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.16% or 2.07 to $1282.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.90% or 0.43 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.60 to trade at $49.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1252, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8709.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 96.77.
