Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 9.40% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.51 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 9.37% or 0.009 points to end at 0.105 and Ellaktor (AT:HELr) was up 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Frigoglass (AT:FRIr), which lost 22.36% or 0.24 points to trade at 0.82 in late trade. A.S. Company (AT:ASCr) declined 10.00% or 0.036 points to end at 0.324 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) shed 6.97% or 1.40 points to 18.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.64% or 20.20 to $1210.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 5.86% or 1.86 to hit $33.61 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 5.33% or 1.76 to trade at $34.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.02% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.7788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 97.45.
