Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gourmet Master (TW:2723), which rose 9.86% or 17.00 points to trade at 189.50 at the close. Yon Yu Plastic (TW:1323) added 9.81% or 2.30 points to end at 25.75 and Azurewave (TW:3694) was up 7.75% or 1.10 points to 15.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025), which lost 10.00% or 0.28 points to trade at 2.52 in late trade. Delta Electron (TW:2308) declined 7.60% or 13.00 points to end at 158.00 and Chang Type (TW:1541) shed 7.30% or 3.60 points to 45.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 555 to 286 and 2 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.39% or 0.17 to $44.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $47.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.40 to trade at $1107.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.38% to 32.588, while TWD/CNY fell 0.15% to 0.1954.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.44.
