Investing.com - Gold futures were lower in European trade on Friday.
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1142.20 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.15%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1141.80 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1140.80 and resistance at USD1159.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.05% to trade at USD97.81.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.31% to trade at USD14.938 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.87% to trade at USD2.501 a pound.
