Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1314.40 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1309.40 and resistance at USD1329.00.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.07% to trade at USD80.21.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.07% to trade at USD21.028 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery rose 0.01% to trade at USD3.261 a pound.
