On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1144.00 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.30%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1141.30 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1140.80 and resistance at USD1163.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.51% to trade at USD97.78.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.53% to trade at USD14.968 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery rose 0.07% to trade at USD2.520 a pound.
