On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1153.70 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.15%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1151.90 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1144.80 and resistance at USD1172.60.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.15% to trade at USD96.79.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.83% to trade at USD15.328 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.16% to trade at USD2.541 a pound.
