On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1170.00 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.19%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1162.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1155.80 and resistance at USD1174.40.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.13% to trade at USD96.50.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.01% to trade at USD15.657 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 3.59% to trade at USD2.523 a pound.
