On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1163.80 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.47%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1156.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1156.00 and resistance at USD1187.60.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.23% to trade at USD96.25.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery rose 0.01% to trade at USD15.578 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery rose 0.13% to trade at USD2.634 a pound.
