On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1178.90 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.49%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1173.30 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1167.10 and resistance at USD1187.30.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.63% to trade at USD95.00.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery fell 0.41% to trade at USD15.703 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery rose 0.16% to trade at USD2.631 a pound.
