On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for August delivery traded at USD1185.20 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.77%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1179.80 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1179.80 and resistance at USD1204.70.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.46% to trade at USD95.55.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for July delivery fell 1.86% to trade at USD16.487 a troy ounce while Copper for July delivery fell 0.32% to trade at USD2.727 a pound.
