On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for June delivery traded at USD1182.30 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 2.29%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1176.10 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1176.10 and resistance at USD1214.90.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.38% to trade at USD94.94.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for July delivery fell 3.59% to trade at USD16.102 a troy ounce while Copper for July delivery rose 2.85% to trade at USD2.879 a pound.
