On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1208.10 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.41%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1206.70 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1200.70 and resistance at USD1223.00.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.20% to trade at USD95.48.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for May delivery fell 0.68% to trade at USD16.445 a troy ounce while Copper for May delivery fell 0.14% to trade at USD2.695 a pound.
