On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1208.80 a troy ounce at time of writing rising 0.61%.
Earlier, it traded at a session high USD1219.80 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1190.00 and resistance at USD1219.80.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 1.15% to trade at USD95.32.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for May delivery rose 0.84% to trade at USD16.612 a troy ounce while Copper for May delivery rose 1.65% to trade at USD2.687 a pound.
