On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for September delivery traded at USD45.33 a barrel at time of writing falling 3.81%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD45.11 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD45.11 and resistance at USD49.52.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.31% to trade at USD97.63.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for September delivery fell 5.06% to trade at USD49.57 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD4.24 a barrel.
