Investing.com - Crude oil futures were lower in Asian trading hours on Friday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for September delivery traded at USD48.77 a barrel at time of writing falling 0.67%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD48.67 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD48.21 and resistance at USD51.58.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.12% to trade at USD97.40.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for September delivery rose 0.02% to trade at USD55.47 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD6.7 a barrel.
