On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for May delivery traded at USD50.91 a barrel at time of writing falling 5.68%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD50.39 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD48.11 and resistance at USD54.13.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.00% to trade at USD98.25.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for May delivery fell 5.18% to trade at USD56.04 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD5.13 a barrel.
