Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MADRID:FER), which rose 3.73% or 0.795 points to trade at 22.140 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) added 1.82% or 0.148 points to end at 8.261 and Abertis Infr (MADRID:ABE) was up 1.60% or 0.235 points to 14.905 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL), which lost 12.03% or 2.070 points to trade at 15.140 in late trade. Indra A (MADRID:IDR) declined 4.79% or 0.515 points to end at 10.225 and FCC (MADRID:FCC) shed 3.33% or 0.323 points to 9.389.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 97 and 9 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.60% or 6.50 to $1095.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.77% or 0.86 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 0.64 to trade at $52.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.1031, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.7056.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 96.99.
