Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 5.43% or 0.0017 points to trade at 0.0330 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 5.29% or 0.5500 points to end at 10.9500 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 3.30% or 0.0380 points to 1.1910 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 1.13% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.6130 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.96% or 0.065 points to end at 6.705 and EDP (LS:EDP) gained 0.41% or 0.0120 points to 2.9250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 40 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 6.42% or 2.53 to $41.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.84% or 2.55 to hit $39.81 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.90 to trade at $1242.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1409, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8077.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.19.
