Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 3.15% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.27 at the close. Sekerbank (IS:SKBNK) added 2.94% or 0.040 points to end at 1.400 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 2.44% or 0.09 points to 3.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.00% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.240 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 3.33% or 0.40 points to end at 11.60 and KOC Holding (IS:KCHOL) shed 3.33% or 0.40 points to 11.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 236 to 158 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.72% or 8.10 to $1124.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.15% or 1.48 to hit $45.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.85% or 0.91 to trade at $48.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.48% to 3.0206, while EUR/TRY fell 0.14% to 3.3645.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.50.
