Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.08% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 1.72% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0058 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) added 1.55% or 0.2075 points to end at 13.6075 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was up 1.39% or 0.01 points to 0.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LISBON:YSO), which lost 4.15% or 0.0500 points to trade at 1.1540 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 3.29% or 0.1190 points to end at 3.5020 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) shed 2.14% or 0.0055 points to 0.2515.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 15 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.63% or 0.29 to $46.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.07 to hit $41.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 2.19% or 24.70 to trade at $1152.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.1197, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7142.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 96.01.
