Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.72%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 6.52% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.376 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 0.53% or 0.010 points to end at 1.910 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 0.35% or 0.010 points to 2.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 5.30% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.430 in late trade. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 2.76% or 0.140 points to end at 4.940 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) shed 2.63% or 0.010 points to 0.370.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 6.82% to 0.470, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was up 2.22% to settle at 1.380 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which gained 1.95% to close at 3.660.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 8.62% to 2.65 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 5.66% to settle at 2.500 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which was down 4.26% to 4.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 8 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.86 to trade at $1283.06 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.35% to 4.1294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 96.87.
