Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 1.22% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.414 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 0.57% or 0.0130 points to end at 2.2960 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.34% or 0.0006 points to 0.1785 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 1.80% or 0.0680 points to trade at 3.7090 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.77% or 0.270 points to end at 14.950 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 1.46% or 0.0400 points to 2.7000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.44 to $54.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1291.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.0702, while EUR/GBP fell 1.02% to 0.8383.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 99.68.
