Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Electricity, Wood, Paper & Printing and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.20% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO), which rose 2.47% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.57 at the close. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 2.05% or 0.060 points to end at 2.980 and Tupras (IS:TUPRS) was up 1.68% or 1.40 points to 84.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which lost 3.99% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.650 in late trade. Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) declined 3.20% or 0.200 points to end at 6.050 and Good-Year (IS:GOODY) shed 2.98% or 0.12 points to 3.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 256 to 92 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.13% or 14.20 to $1267.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.93% or 0.48 to hit $52.18 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.38 to trade at $55.27 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.45% to 3.7284, while EUR/TRY rose 0.13% to 3.9596.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 100.82.
