Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.74% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which fell 0.43% or 0.13 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell 0.66% or 0.12 points to end at 17.39 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was down 0.89% or 0.49 points to 54.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 3.70% or 0.175 points to trade at 4.555 in late trade. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 3.50% or 0.143 points to end at 3.944 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 3.10% or 0.319 points to 9.966.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 14.70% to 30.95 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.61% or 0.30 to $48.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.59% or 0.30 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.90% or 11.45 to trade at $1287.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1279, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.7929.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.45.
