Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.07% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.48% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.1400 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 3.38% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.0459 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.30% or 0.0500 points to 3.8980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 4.80% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.595 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 3.82% or 0.0710 points to end at 1.7900 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.69% or 0.1460 points to 8.5050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 22 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.19% or 0.08 to $41.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.21 to hit $41.31 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1247.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1219, while EUR/GBP rose 0.95% to 0.7898.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.66.
