Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 1.64% or 0.074 points to trade at 4.587 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) added 1.04% or 0.11 points to end at 10.65 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.84% or 2.00 points to 240.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon (AS:AEGN), which lost 3.38% or 0.154 points to trade at 4.399 in late trade. Randstad (AS:RAND) declined 2.62% or 1.27 points to end at 47.16 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 2.05% or 0.32 points to 15.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 59 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.91% to 20.84.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.52% or 30.55 to trade at $1243.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.69% to 1.1342, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.7812.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.58% at 94.05.
