Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.72% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.66% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.318 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 3.90% or 0.120 points to end at 3.200 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) was up 3.70% or 0.090 points to 2.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which lost 12.14% or 0.051 points to trade at 0.369 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 5.88% or 0.010 points to end at 0.160 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) shed 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.89% or 0.43 to $48.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.59% or 0.30 to hit $51.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1145.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.08% to 3.2240, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.6252.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.64.
