Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes (measured at the time of purchase) ("net assets") in a diversified portfolio of equity investments in small-cap issuers. Although it will invest primarily in publicly traded U.S. securities, including real estate investment trusts, it may also invest in foreign securities.

Ms. Bamford has over 25 years of investment experience. She also led Goldman Sachs’s U.S. Responsible Equity investments and co-led the Global Sustain Equity investments. Previously, she was with Putnam Investments for 10 years (1992-2002), where she served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager and Analyst on multiple value investments. Before that, she was with Fidelity Investments (1988-1990), where she served in investment research. Ms. Bamford holds an S.M. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a dual-M.A. in Theology and Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College. She is a CFA Charterholder and member of the Boston Society of Security Analysts.

Biography Parisi is a managing director and portfolio manager at GSAM. She joined GSAM as a portfolio manager in August 2001. From December 2000 to August 2001, Parisi was a portfolio manager at John A. Levin & Co. From March 1995 to December 2000, she was a portfolio manager and managing director at Valenzuela Capital. Parisi holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Biography Edward J. Perkin, CFA, is Chief Investment Officer, Equity and Vice President of Boston Management and Research, who has managed Large-Cap Value Portfolio since June 2014. Mr. Perkin has served as a portfolio manager since June 2014 and manages other Eaton Vance portfolios. He is responsible for all equity disciplines at Eaton Vance, including U.S and global equity portfolios in value, core, growth and dividend income styles and covering large-cap, multicap, midcap and small-cap ranges. Eddie joined Eaton Vance in April 2014 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) in London, where he was chief investment officer (international and emerging-market equity) as well as managing director/portfolio manager (Europe, EAFE and global). In this role, he was responsible for leading a 50-person team of portfolio managers and analysts in eight locations. Before relocating to London in 2008, Mr. Perkin was a portfolio manager and analyst on GSAM’s U.S. value equity team in New York. Mr. Perkin was previously associated with FISERV and American Retirement Insurance Services. Eddie earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a CFA charter holder.
