Betfair And Paddy Power: Setting Up The Top Spot For Online Betting

With the last 12 months being a busy period for M&A, Guy Shone – Managing director of Explain the Market – joins Nick Batsford and Zak Mir to talk about the recent merger of Betfair Group Plc (LONDON:BETF) and Paddy Power Plc (LONDON:PAP).

With the market for betting being heavily saturated, particularly with brands becoming more mainstream and the inclusion of changing technologies, older names have suffered. The merger of Betfair and Paddy Power will see the duo up to the number 1 spot for online betting, and create a difficult brand to compete with.
