MILAN (Reuters) - Italy's biggest utility Enel (MI:ENEI) said on Thursday its net profit in 2014 fell 84 percent on the year after booking hefty writedowns on assets, especially in Italy and Slovakia.
State-controlled Enel said in a statement its net profit for the year was 517 million euros (374 million pounds) after impairment charges to the tune of 6.43 billion euros (4.3 billion pounds).
It said it would pay a dividend of 0.14 euros per share on 2014 results compared to 0.13 euros per share the previous year.
Enel gave preliminary 2014 results in February.
