Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.72% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.1580 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 5.26% or 0.060 points to end at 1.200 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) was up 3.35% or 0.110 points to 3.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 4.81% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.099 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 4.37% or 0.52 points to end at 11.38 and Reds (AT:CAMr) shed 3.83% or 0.012 points to 0.301.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 35 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.16% or 2.05 to $1271.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.42% or 1.18 to hit $49.87 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.18% or 1.11 to trade at $51.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 96.13.
