Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 4.07% or 1.66 points to trade at 42.45 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 3.67% or 0.74 points to end at 21.05 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 2.44% or 0.545 points to 22.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.70% or 0.185 points to trade at 10.695 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 0.86% or 2.05 points to end at 237.65 and NN Group (AS:NN) shed 0.29% or 0.08 points to 27.07.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 49 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.13% to 16.81.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $48.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $51.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.72% or 35.75 to trade at $1276.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.15.
