Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.44% or 0.0173 points to trade at 0.4073 at the close. Campari (MI:CPRI) added 2.27% or 0.20 points to end at 8.79 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 1.96% or 0.24 points to 12.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 10.00% or 0.0280 points to trade at 0.2519 in late trade. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 6.46% or 1.41 points to end at 20.40 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 4.90% or 0.1200 points to 2.3300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 238 to 160 and 27 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 4.57% or 1.98 to $45.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 4.21% or 1.87 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.75 to trade at $1224.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0725, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8636.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.19.
