Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.15% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 3.49% or 0.260 points to trade at 7.720 at the close. Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) added 3.09% or 0.030 points to end at 1.000 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) was up 1.92% or 0.020 points to 1.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 8.20% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.120 in late trade. Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) declined 7.59% or 0.060 points to end at 0.730 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 7.01% or 2.34 points to 31.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 354 to 28 and 22 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.65 to $1304.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.55% or 0.69 to hit $43.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.87 to trade at $45.48 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.04% to 3.1736, while EUR/TRY rose 2.22% to 3.5310.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 97.00.
