Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Investment Trust and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 16.10% or 3.30 points to trade at 23.80 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 12.56% or 9.70 points to end at 86.90 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 24.89% or 376.20 points to trade at 1135.00 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 9.09% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and eChannelling PLC (CM:ECL) shed 7.06% or 0.60 points to 7.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 79 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.06% or 0.47 to $44.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.67% or 0.32 to hit $47.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.74% or 9.85 to trade at $1336.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 193.875, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 145.625.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.59.
