Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 1.66% or 0.62 points to trade at 37.93 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) added 0.63% or 0.16 points to end at 25.44 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was up 0.23% or 0.09 points to 39.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS), which lost 1.46% or 0.57 points to trade at 38.50 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 1.44% or 0.09 points to end at 6.15 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) shed 1.30% or 0.25 points to 18.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 77 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.42% or 0.64 to $44.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.71% or 0.73 to hit $42.04 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.35% or 4.65 to trade at $1351.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1174, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8590.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.61.
