Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Household sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.52% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr), which rose 6.06% or 0.330 points to trade at 5.780 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 5.36% or 0.030 points to end at 0.590 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which lost 3.93% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.890 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 2.98% or 0.170 points to end at 5.520 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 2.78% or 0.030 points to 1.050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 29 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.90 to $1227.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.81% or 0.37 to hit $45.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.30 to trade at $46.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0678, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8572.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 100.47.
