DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (Reuters) - A Turkish soldier was killed and two others wounded in a rocket attack on a military base on Tuesday in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast, security sources said.
The military launched an operation and scrambled F16 fighter jets after militants fired rockets at a gendarmes outpost near the town of Lice in Diyarbakir province, they said.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility. The armed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) has repeatedly targeted security forces since it abandoned a two-year ceasefire in July 2015.
