Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.20% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index lost 0.30%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 2.22% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.840 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 0.24% or 0.002 points to end at 0.840 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 1.290 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which lost 4.61% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.450 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 4.59% or 0.026 points to end at 0.540 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) shed 3.67% or 0.024 points to 0.630.

The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which rose 4.62% to 3.40, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 2.44% to settle at 0.840 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 1.33% to close at 8.39.

The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 9.86% to 5.03 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 9.83% to settle at 1.56 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 8.11% to 0.340 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 3 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 17 fell and 9 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.69% or 0.32 to $46.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $47.89 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1274.60 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.63% to 4.1534.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 94.60.
