Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 2.36% or 0.111 points to trade at 4.810 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.02% or 1.330 points to end at 67.120 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.00% or 1.15 points to 116.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which lost 1.69% or 0.24 points to trade at 13.93 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.47% or 0.300 points to end at 20.080 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.15% or 0.205 points to 17.595.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 61 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.49% to 13.40.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.50% or 1.14 to $44.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.49% or 1.20 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 12.39 to trade at $1210.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1403, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.80.
