Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Industrial Transportation and Household Goods & Home Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which rose 2.74% or 17.00 points to trade at 638.20 at the close. Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) added 2.26% or 15.20 points to end at 686.60 and Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) was up 1.57% or 12.80 points to 825.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV), which lost 2.78% or 15.20 points to trade at 532.00 in late trade. Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LON:BKGH) declined 2.63% or 140.00 points to end at 5,175.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) shed 2.03% or 11.00 points to 532.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 932 to 804 and 737 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.60% or 39.85 to $2,532.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.60% or 1.25 to hit $76.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.39% or 1.13 to trade at $79.91 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.47% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 102.52.
