Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Pharmaceuticals & Biotech sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.34% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which rose 4.06% or 505.00 points to trade at 12,955.00 at the close. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) added 3.84% or 18.70 points to end at 505.40 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) was up 2.83% or 3.90 points to 141.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which lost 4.68% or 25.80 points to trade at 525.80 in late trade. AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) declined 3.16% or 330.00 points to end at 10,100.00 and BT Group PLC (LON:BT) shed 2.85% or 3.25 points to 110.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1021 to 638 and 469 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 7.05 to $1,987.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.73% or 1.52 to hit $86.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 1.36 to trade at $90.80 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.55% to 1.22, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 105.57.
