Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Electrical sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 2.85% or 44.50 points to trade at 1607.50 at the close. Pearson PLC (LON:PSON) added 2.08% or 15.60 points to end at 767.00 and Capita PLC (LON:CPI) was up 1.67% or 2.80 points to 170.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GKN PLC (LON:GKN), which lost 2.53% or 11.00 points to trade at 424.10 in late trade. Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:HIK) declined 2.05% or 18.40 points to end at 880.00 and Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB) shed 1.95% or 113.00 points to 5697.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1124 to 808 and 154 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 3.30 to $1320.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.53% or 0.95 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.79 to trade at $64.70 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.34% to 1.3901, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 89.92.
