Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Electrical and Gas, Water & Multiutilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV), which rose 4.39% or 40.50 points to trade at 963.50 at the close. Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL) added 2.42% or 84.00 points to end at 3,550.00 and SSE PLC (LON:SSE) was up 2.40% or 44.00 points to 1,874.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which lost 8.03% or 61.60 points to trade at 705.40 in late trade. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) declined 5.99% or 1,110.00 points to end at 17,430.00 and Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA) shed 2.32% or 94.00 points to 3,953.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 981 to 781 and 693 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 13.15 to $2,663.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.46% or 1.86 to hit $73.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.29% or 1.81 to trade at $77.23 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 103.04.
