Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas Producers, Gas, Water & Multiutilities and Household Goods & Home Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were NK Rosneft PAO DRC (LON:ROSNq), which rose 3.26% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) added 3.02% or 1.50 points to end at 51.20 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 2.94% or 16.83 points to 590.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA), which lost 3.05% or 19.60 points to trade at 622.40 in late trade. Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) declined 2.55% or 49.0 points to end at 1875.0 and Associated British Foods PLC (LON:ABF) shed 2.36% or 46.5 points to 1923.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1024 to 956 and 477 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 3.45 to $1795.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.95% or 0.66 to hit $70.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.49 to trade at $73.41 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.03% to 1.3843, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8531.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 92.597.
