Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Sports and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 7.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 2.04% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) fell 1.05% or 0.050 points to end at 4.690 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) was down 1.52% or 0.070 points to 4.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 20.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 19.95% or 2.65 points to end at 10.63 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 19.19% or 0.190 points to 0.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 396 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1327.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 0.70 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.65 to trade at $46.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.43% to 2.9706, while EUR/TRY fell 1.11% to 3.2911.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.50.
